Huge problem with crashing. Can’t get it to work.

Thank you for a powerful app for scanning business cards. I scan many Restaurant business cards, which are in the most non-standard formats and difficult for any scanning app! Frequently, the address & phone info is on the "back" of these business cards and the "front" of the card is just the restaurant name (or just a logo or image with no recognizable text!) On these cards, we need the "back" info parsed into the fields and the "front" to be useable for display in the index listings as they are the most recognizable logo for the restaurant! The new OCR feature of scanning the back image is great, but it just adds everything as a note. Please add a choice for us to use the front or back image in the index listings, so we can scan the restaurant logo side as the back image, but display it on the index listings. With this choice, the "back" of the card with info can still be scanned as front for OCR into the fields. Or maybe just call it Side A & Side B! We also need better choice of rotating the images by 90 degrees as these cards may not have text for the app to figure out orientation and some cards are just a square (or other odd shapes)!

Another app busted by iOS8. At first it wants to "optimize database" Then it crashes And subsequently wont open. Avoid until fixed.

Since reporting the bug/crashing of this app several days ago (see below the dotted line), ABBYY has released a fixed version (8.1) today to address the problem. Hence, I have given this app back the 5 stars it deserves. -------------------- I previously gave this app 5 stars, thats how good and useful I found it. But since it updated a couple of days ago to version 8.0 , its been totally UNusable for me - the program will not load up and closes immediately after launching it! I can no longer access any of the business cards I have in it. I checked the ABBYY support site and one suggestion was to close down other programs...closed everything down, and even shut down and then restarted my device, and still have the same problem. I even uninstalled and the reinstalled, and still the problem exists. <sigh> Hoping the ABBYY people see this and provide a fix/update asap!

First I was unsure if this app will be of any practical use, but now Im genuinely impressed: I stopped stacking up business cards elsewhere (believe me, I tried all kinds of card holders; I could never find the card I needed when I needed). The app works just as described, go ahead and download it!

Ive tried numerous apps like this, all the way back to Palms heyday. Then I just gave up. I bumped into this as a bundle deal, so I didnt pay out of pocket, thus coercing a try-again mentality. Man, tech has seriously improved! I love the way this app highlights a few characters, so I can make corrections easily, if needed. Turns out, only had to change an "o" to "@". And its been consistent, in terms of sparking more smiles than groans. Its a keeper!

I may be able to deposit the customers business card contacts by quickly scanning. This is a great business reader software.

Very very good app!I usually store the card into card bag before I use this app!As a result my card bag become more and more thick! It promote my work efficiency! This app is better than those free app!It is very exactly,you cannot edit the information again after you capture the card!

Ive tried a few and this one has amazing features plus it saves the photo copy of the card in the program. It transfers the best of all the ones I have tried and has some excellent features built in.

ABBYY has a long history in the optical character recognition field and that shows in ABBYY Business Card Reader. The app has excellent text recognition and is one of the easiest of apps in this category to navigate. ABBYY BCR allows you to save an image of the back of the card and you can add a picture of the card’s owner, too. Cropping of scanned images is semiautomatic: the app detects card edges and you can adjust them before saving. It’s odd, though, that it doesn’t include card guides when scanning. My only major complaint for this app is that it offers no real detail view. Unlike other apps like it, when you tap on a contact in list view, you are presented with only the image of the card—you have to edit the contact to see the underlying data. I’d like to see the interface tightened up a bit and more attention paid to usability. And I wouldn’t be opposed to LinkedIn integration, if that were to be added.

I purchased this App after reading many reviews on the internet and comparisons to other Apps. I for sure love the purchase and glad I got it. I used some of the long holiday time to scan the hundreds of cards I have from all over the world and I am very impressed with the accuracy the App was able to recognize the cards, not 100 % automatic read but close enough. Now I dont have to carry all these cards with me during my worldwide trips and can find any card in seconds. Two requests for improvements. 1) The groups should get arranged alphabetically automatically. 2) the add new group button better be moved to the top of the group list not the bottom so we dont have to scroll all the way down to create a new group, this would save time. Thanks for the great product

I like that I can take pictures of the back of cards (A surprisingly large amount of business card apps dont) Id give 5 stars, but I dont like being forced to use ABBYY Cloud for synchronization. I would like to see alternative options like Dropbox/Google Drive. At the very least, iCloud sync. Other than that, it gets the job done.

Does exactly what I need for business card management.

When I decided to buy this app the price was $0.99 but Ive already charged $499. I have that $0,99 screenshot of my App Store. Please give me back the difference

Four apps later, I found a fantastic tool.

This app stopped working two weeks after I started using it, fortunately I scanned a few cards and did not throw away the BC otherwise consider my contacts gone! it started with the app crashing and now it does not open I dont recommend this app!!
